I know we say this joke casually but neil gaiman really is stronger than a us marine to leave his inbox open
Shout-out to Ao3 for not only being transparent in the work they're doing to try to get the site running, but for IMMEDIATELY calling out any islamophobia. They're doing fucking WORK rn, all on a volunteer basis, and while most of the comments I've seen are far and away supportive I just know whoever is in charge of their socials is watching the comments section unfold with a migraine.
Anyway this is all to say I love Ao3 and the people working on it rn are dealing with absolute chaos, so the next time someone throws out a line about "why do they need a fundraiser every year" please remember today.
There's a poll on twitter we are losing in :(
I like to think that we would lose against Daenerys, though. In fact I like to think that C&A would lose against pretty much anyone in Game of Thrones. They are too nice, too trusting and occasionally too sane.
Nobody beats Gandalf. Especially not a differently competent demon and an equally competency challenged angel.
We managed to beat Gandalf!😱 And now are against 'The Mandalorian and Grogu':
Also, from their pages :):
No. They won't. That would be much too silly.
reminder that if (when) both dream and aziraphal & crowley win, they’ll be pitted against each other for the final…
which side will you be on mr Gaiman…
I will be rooting equally for both sides.
And on the bright side, my (so far) failed predictions of doom will finally be justified for either Crowley and Aziraphale, or for Dream, as they reach the semifinal. And then there will be the final to go, and then we will finally, gloriously, lose properly.
The time has come 👀, vote here.
WE WOOOOOOOOON!!!🥳🥳🥳❤ WAHOO! :)))
Every year, we pit dozens of characters drawn from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books against each other in a March Madness-style tournament. It’s Fandom Madness, and it’s always unpredictable.
Last time, Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones came out on top. This year, she was knocked out of the running pretty early on, and new narratives began to take shape. On one side of the bracket, Joel from The Last of Us gained traction. On the other side, it was all about Neil Gaiman. Dream from The Sandman and Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens rode a wave of enthusiasm deep into the tournament.
Eventually, the final matchup came down to Joel on one side and Aziraphale and Crowley on the other. But there was no stopping this momentum. Aziraphale and Crowley cruised to a crushing victory, becoming our new champions!
It’s always fun seeing what fandoms turn out for the tournament. I didn’t expect Neil Gaiman characters to take over so thoroughly, but it was a great time!
The first season of Good Omens, adapted from the book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, told the tongue-in-cheek story of an angel and demon who team up to prevent the apocalypse, having grown fond of life on Earth after many millennia spending time there. The second season, which goes beyond the original book, is due out on Amazon Prime Video this summer.
Congratulations to Aziraphale and Crowley and to the Good Omens fans who made their victory possible!
WE DID IT! THE DIFFERENTLY COMPETENT DEMON AND THE EQUALLY COMPETENCY CHALLENGED ANGEL GOT THE CROWN!!! 🥳❤
Can I hear a wahoo? :))
